The story behind Fee.

Fee took shape in Dalarna, by Lake Närsen, and grew in Borlänge. This is the story of the people and ideas behind it.

It started with the founder’s son.

Fee is the app where you get help from AI, and also the character you meet in it. The character is a tribute to the son of Magnus, who founded Flatfee. The son’s curiosity, humour and warmth became the character Fee, and his wish to help others gave the app its direction.

You should be able to use Fee even if AI is new to you. Write what you want to understand, finish or create. Fee should make it easier to take the next step.

Ideas from everyday life.

While a small outbuilding was being renovated by Lake Närsen, there were long conversations about what an app should actually do for the person using it.

Light evenings. Harsh winters. Time to think.

Three ideas from those conversations live on in Fee.

  1. Understand first.

Fee should understand the request properly before it decides what to do.

  2. Ask when it matters.

Fee asks before anything big happens, not before every small step.

  3. Show the result.

You should be able to read, review and change what Fee suggests.

Work continued in Borlänge.

There, the ideas became Fee, and that is where Flatfee is today. The goal is concrete: to help you understand a letter, write a reply or finish something that has been left undone.
