About Fee.
What is AI?
A computer program that has learned from a huge amount of text. It can answer questions, explain things and write in everyday language. You write as you would to a person and get an answer.
What is Fee?
Fee is an app where you get help from AI. It explains, writes and gets things done for you. You use Fee in the browser, on your computer or phone, or in the app for Mac and Windows. Fee is made by Flatfee AB in Borlänge.
Who is the character Fee?
The character Fee is our mascot, and you meet it in the app. It is a tribute to the son of Magnus, who founded Flatfee.
Can Fee be wrong?
Yes. Fee shows its sources when it looks something up, and says when it is unsure. Check important details, such as dates, amounts and rules, against the source.
Does Fee give medical or legal advice?
No. Fee is not a doctor or a lawyer. It gives suggestions, not the final word, on law, health, tax and bookkeeping. Ask a doctor, a lawyer or an accountant about decisions that matter.
Which languages does Fee understand?
Fee answers in the language you write in. The website and the app are in Swedish, English and Spanish.
Can Fee send emails for me?
No. Fee writes the email, and you copy it or open it in your email app and send it yourself.
Can Fee read my email or my calendar?
No. Fee does not read your email or your calendar.
Can Fee make my website?
Yes. In the browser, Fee makes a simple website that you publish with one click. You see the website first, and it is only published when you press Publish. During the beta you can have up to three published at a time. In the desktop app, Fee builds the website in a folder on your computer.
Can Fee remember things about me?
Only if you want. With memory, Fee remembers things about you between chats, like your name. Memory is off until you turn it on. Then you see everything Fee remembers about you, and can change or delete it.
Can Fee read a photo of a letter?
Yes. Take a photo of the letter, or attach it as a PDF, and ask what it means. Photos and other images are always processed outside the EU.
Can Fee make images or video?
No. Fee does not create images or video in the beta.
Getting started.
What does beta mean?
That Fee is still being developed, and that you get to try it early. Something may change or go wrong, and then we would like to hear about it.
Why is there a waitlist?
We invite people at a pace that lets us look after everyone who is already in.
How long is the waitlist?
We do not show how long the waitlist is or where you stand in it. We email you when it is your turn. Look in your spam folder too.
What happens when I get my invitation?
You open the link in the email and log in with Google or with a code we email you. Then you start in the browser. You only need the app for Mac and Windows if Fee should work with files on your computer.
Do I have to download anything?
No. Fee works in your browser. You only need the desktop app if you want Fee to work with files on your computer.
Does Fee work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in the browser. You can put Fee on your home screen. There is no app in the App Store or Google Play.
Does Fee work without the internet?
No. Fee needs the internet to answer.
What is the difference between the browser and the desktop app?
The browser is enough for most things. The desktop app can also work with files in a folder on your computer and read answers aloud. The full comparison is on How Fee works.
Money.
What does it cost?
The beta is free of charge and needs no card. There is a daily limit on how much you can use Fee.
Safety.
Who can read my chats?
You do. If you report a problem and tick the box to include the chat yourself, we at Flatfee can read that chat. Chats in the browser are saved unencrypted on Flatfee’s server, so the people who run the server could technically reach them.
Are my chats used to train AI?
We do not train any AI models on your chats.
Where is my data stored?
When you use Fee in the browser, your chats and your memory are saved on Flatfee’s own server, at a Swedish hosting company. In the desktop app, they are saved on your computer. If you turn on “Sync chats with the web”, your chats and your memory are also saved on the server, and the memory is the same in the app and in the browser. Saved answers have their own switch, “Sync saved answers”. Your login and account details are handled by another provider. The answers are produced by other companies, and some of that can happen outside the EU.
How do I delete a chat or my account?
You delete a chat in the menu by the chat. To delete your whole account, open Settings in Fee and choose “Delete my account”. It is deleted at once, and you do not need to write to us.
Can children use Fee?
No. During the beta you must be at least 18 years old.
Where can I read more?
Read Trust in plain words for the short answers, or the pages about privacy and security for the details.
Switching and taking your data with you.
Can I bring my old chats from another AI service?
Yes. Under “My data” and “Move your data” in Settings, you can bring in your old chats and what the other service has saved about you.
Can I take everything from Fee with me?
Yes. Under Settings, choose “My data”, then “Export my data” under “Move your data”. You get a zip file with your chats, your memory and what you have saved from Fee’s answers, as ordinary files.
Business and contact.
Can I use Fee in my business?
