Meet Fee. Ask. Write. Create.
Fee is the app where you get help from AI, in plain language. Here you can see what Fee can do, where you use it and what it does not do.
How you work with Fee.
-
Write the way you talk.
You do not need special words. Attach a letter or a photo if it helps.
-
Fee gives you something to work with.
An explanation, a draft or a plan. In the desktop app, it can also be files in a folder you have chosen.
-
Change it until it is right.
Read what Fee has made, and ask for changes until you are happy with it.
Use Fee in your browser or on your computer.
-
In your browser.
Ask a question, understand a document, write a message, or make a plan or a simple website. Nothing to install.
-
In the app for Mac and Windows.
There you choose a folder on your computer that Fee may work in. In that folder, Fee can create and change files, for example for a website. Afterwards, a report shows which files changed.
Browser or desktop app?
Both are the same Fee, with the same account. Here is what differs.
| What | In your browser | In the desktop app |
|---|---|---|
| What you need to install | Nothing. | A download, about 250 MB on Mac and about 110 MB on Windows. |
| Chat, attachments and sources | Yes. | Yes. |
| Memory | Yes, Flatfee saves it for you. | Yes, saved on your computer. If you turn on “Sync chats with the web”, it is the same memory as in your browser. |
| On your phone | Yes, in the browser. You can put Fee on your home screen. | No. |
| Work with files in a folder | No. | Yes, in “Advanced mode”, for example to build a website. You approve the big steps and can undo the changes. |
| Websites | Yes, a simple website that you publish with one click. During the beta you can have up to three published at a time. | Yes, in a folder on your computer. |
| Read answers aloud | No. | Yes, with your computer’s own voice. |
| The same chats in both | Yes. | Yes, if you turn on “Sync chats with the web” in the desktop app. |
“In your browser” means flatfee.one/app, on your computer or phone. The desktop app is for Mac and Windows.
How Fee answers.
Asks only when it needs to.
If Fee needs to know something, it asks one question, and often you can just tap one of the answers.
Say yes, and it gets done.
If Fee offers something and you say yes, it is done straight away.
Shows its sources.
If you ask about something that changes, like the weather, the news or a date, Fee looks it up and shows where the answer comes from.
Change the answer with a tap.
Under many answers there are buttons such as Shorter, Simpler, Friendlier and Firmer. Which ones you see depends on what you asked Fee for. Under Adjust there are more choices, for example to get the answer as steps.
Does not give up.
If something goes wrong on the way, Fee tries again. If Fee really gets stuck, it tells you what happened.
Attach letters, photos and documents.
Add a photo, a PDF or a Word, Excel or PowerPoint document (.docx, .xlsx or .pptx) and ask what it means. Photos and other images you attach can be processed outside the EU. You can add up to 10 files at a time, 20 MB per file and 50 MB together. In a PDF, Fee reads the first 10 pages and says which pages it read. Fee quotes dates and amounts word for word, and says if something could not be read.
Memory.
With memory, Fee remembers things about you between chats, like your name, so you do not have to tell it again. Memory is off until you turn it on. You can do that under “Memory” in Settings, or when Fee asks whether it may remember something. After that, it is enough to say “remember that my name is Anna”. Under “Memory” you see everything Fee remembers. There you can correct one line at a time, pause memory or have Fee forget everything. Fee tries not to save passwords, card numbers or ID numbers.
Do you run your own business?
Then Fee can write quotes, look up companies, work out your tax dates and go through receipts. Turn on business mode under Settings in Fee.
Good to know.
- Fee can be wrong. Check important details against the source, especially dates, amounts and rules.
- Fee gives suggestions, not the final word, on law, health, tax and bookkeeping.
- Fee does not send emails, pay or book for you. You do that yourself.
- Fee does not create images or video in the beta.
- Fee needs the internet to answer.
- There is no app for your phone in an app store. Use Fee in your phone’s browser.
- During the beta there is a limit on how much you can use Fee each day. If you reach it, Fee tells you when you can continue.
