QuestionAnswer
Am I talking to a person?Fee is an AI, not a person. Fee can make mistakes. Check important details.
Where are my chats?

When you use Fee in the browser, your chats are saved on Flatfee’s own server, at a Swedish hosting company. In the app for Mac and Windows, they are saved on your computer.

If you turn on “Sync chats with the web”, they are also saved on the server, and your memory is the same in the app and in the browser. Saved answers have their own switch, “Sync saved answers”. Your login and your account are handled by another provider.

Who can read them?

You can. We at Flatfee do not read your chats, except the ones you choose to send to us in a report.

Chats in the browser are saved unencrypted on Flatfee’s server, so the people who run the server could technically reach them.

Are they encrypted?Your memory is encrypted on Flatfee’s server, and Flatfee holds the key. Your chats are not encrypted.
Where are the answers produced?

The answers are produced by other companies, and some of that can happen outside the EU. Photos and other images you attach can be processed outside the EU.

The list is on the privacy page.

Are my chats used to train AI?We do not train any AI of our own on your conversations. What the AI services we use do with what is sent to them is governed by their terms.
What is my information used for?

We use what you write and the files you share so that Fee can answer you, to keep the service safe and, unless you turn it off, to count how Fee is doing (never what you wrote). We never sell them and never use them for advertising.

Fee is run by Flatfee AB, a Swedish company. To produce answers, your question, your pictures and your voice are sent to AI services we use, and some of them are outside the EU.

What do you save about me?Your chats, and what Fee remembers about you if you have turned memory on. Besides that, your email address, so that you can log in. You can see all of it in Fee.
How long is it kept?

Until you delete it.

Backups are kept for up to eight weeks.

How do I delete? You delete a chat in the menu by the chat. To delete your whole account, open Settings in Fee and choose “Delete account”. You can choose “Delete in 7 days (you can undo)” or “Delete now”. You do not need to write to us.
Can I take everything with me?Yes. Under Settings, choose “Memory”, then “Export everything” under “Your data”. You get a zip file with your chats, your memory and what you have saved from Fee’s answers, as ordinary files.
Does Fee send anything for me?No. Fee writes, and you send it yourself. A website is only published when you press Publish.
Does Fee read my email or my calendar?

Fee does not read your email or your calendar. You show Fee what you want help with.

What do you measure?Error codes, response times, which features you use and whether you give an answer a thumbs up or down. This is on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings. We do not add your account to the counts. We do not save what you write.
Can children use Fee?No. During the beta you must be at least 18 years old.

How Fee learns.

Fee learns from how your answers are received. We do not link what is saved to your account, and it does not contain what you write. You can turn this off in Settings.

Fee counts which features you use, whether you give an answer a thumbs up or down, whether an answer seemed to work, and errors and response times. This is on by default.

How long: single rows are kept for 45 days. After that only daily totals remain, for up to 400 days, with nothing that points to a person.
